16 rafts sailed down the River Trent from Little Haywood to Wolseley Bridges kindly arranged by Mr R Hooley of Chase YFC.
After great fun, plenty of soaking and frantic paddling of oars, the results were:
Ladies – 1st Eccleshall; 2nd Uttoxeter B; 3rd Waterhouses
Mens – 1st Eccleshall B; 2nd Uttoxeter A; 3rd Eccleshall A

Our team from Staffordshire did really well on the day with the following placings at the Great Yorkshire Show where the NFYFC Dairy Stockjudging Finals were held:
21 and Under – Rob Mollatt of Uttoxeter JNFU – 3rd
16 and Under – Rob Gray of Lichfield YFC – 19th
21 and Under – Philip Wilson of Uttoxeter JNFU – 17th
16 and Under – Lucy Clayton of Uttoxeter JNFU – 27th
Newly formed Cheadle YFC have taken the 2nd place in a hard fought Dodgeball Competition which was held at NFYFC Competitions Sports Finals Day on 1st July.

Staffordshire YFC sent a team of members to the National Clay Pigeon Shooting Finals which were held at Oakedge in Rugeley.
Results from the team were as follows:
Josh Robinson of Waterhouses YFC – 2nd (26 and Under)
Toby Bushell of Abbotsholme YFC – 4th (17 and Under)
Sam Down of Uttoxeter JNFU – 7th (26 and Under)
Andrew Gray of Lichfield YFC – 15th (17 and Under)
Huge congratulations to the team from Eccleshall YFC who debated their way to 2nd place at the NFYFC Competitions Day Finals.
The team consisted of members: Imogen Bloxham, Emily Cartmail, Catherine Johnson, Harriet Wilson and Annabel Bradshaw.
Teams from around Staffordshire YFC took part in the West Midlands Area of YFC’s Male and Female Tug of War Competitions at the Three Counties Show on Sunday 17th June. Also teams took part in the Junior (12 – 17 years) Tug of War which was also held on the same day including a team from the newly formed Cheadle YFC.
Following a great competitions, the results were as follows:
Junior Competition: 3rd Place – Staffordshire A (Waterhouses YFC)
Ladies Competition: 1st Place – Staffordshire A (Stone YFC), 3rd Place – Staffordshire B (Eccleshall YFC)
Mens Competition: 1st Place – Staffordshire A (Waterhouses YFC)
The teams from Waterhouses and Stone will now go forward to take on the rest of the Country at the NFYFC Finals which are held on Saturday 4th August at Tenbury Show in Worcestershire.
All 11 clubs had been working for months putting together their floats to the theme ‘British Sitcoms’, the sun shone on the Thursday of Stafford County Show and the water fight was enjoyed by all. The results from the competition were:

1st – Uttoxeter JNFU, 2nd – Stone YFC, 3rd – Ashley YFC

12 entries were received were the ‘500’ word story competition, each entry had to incorporte 15 specific words. The winners of the competition were:

The Wednesday of the County Show saw clubs from around the County compete for the Tug of War silverware, the results were:
