Uttoxeter JNFU has had a great year. The year began with Sarah, Annmarie, Fran and Nick all on the top table.
The Young Farmers had soon got under way with the County Carcase Judging Competition, in which we got placed 2nd overall. During November, the club held a Charity Promise Auction, which raised in excess of £2,600. A wide variety of items and promises were auctioned, which varied from a dozen eggs to a date for the evening! The evening showed Richard Moss prove to be more popular than Rob Atkin and Paul Sargeant put together!!!! The club would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who gave a promise or donation and everyone who supported the evening. A special thanks to Mark Gardner and all at Bagshaws, Mr & Mrs Brookes and Mrs Salt for all their hard work to make the evening successful.
Throughout December and January the Club took part in many competitions including Volleyball (3rd place), Pool and Go-Karting.
December proved to be a very busy month with plenty of partying and the Club even went Carol Singing. It was also the time of year for our Annual Buffet. The evening was very successful, the food of a high standard, and even showed many of the lads helping with the washing up. Richard Moss presented the Sarah Talbot Memorial Trophy for Outstanding Member of the Year to Tom Statham.
February to April soon passed by with more competitions including Bowling, 2nd place in the County Quiz and 2nd overall in Indoor Cricket. The Clay Pigeon Shoot proved we’ve got the best shot in the Area, Michael Statham. The Annual Charity Quiz showed plenty of teams and a presentation was made to Air Ambulance for £1,600 and Rural Stress Support Network for £1000. In Stockman of the Year we were 2nd overall and in Dairy Stockjudging 2nd overall, which was a great success to the Club.
Despite the wet weather, we went out in force to the Rally, picking up the Most Improved Club, Junior Cup and Intermediate Cup.
