2005/2006 has been a very successful year for Ridware YFC. A huge boost was given to the Club when past and present members organised a 25th Anniversary Dinner and Dance held at the Ingestre Suite in December. Many people enjoyed a great evening of good food, music and memories. Thank you to everyone who contributed to the celebrations in any way. A huge amount of money was raised for club funds. Stone very generously agreed to host a Disco at the Winking Man and donated half of the profits to Ridware and our thanks also go to all of the Clubs who donated money to us. We are very grateful to you all for boosting both funds and morale.
Congratulations to Martin and Sam Farrington on their wedding and the birth of Lily May and Thomas. Congratulations also go to Carl & Charlotte Farrington on the birth of Harry.

Travel was on the agenda this year when four members travelled up the M6 to take part in the National AGM. Carolyn Greenwood, Tom Hill and Craig & Mick Hudson spent the weekend in the company of many like-minded youngsters enjoying the fun and games in Blackpool. In July Tom Hill was awarded a Homestay Trip to Germany for two weeks through the Discovery Programme, which he has thoroughly recommended as being a great way to travel.
Meetings over the past year have been varied with the ever-popular ice-skating and trips to the cinema competing with Golf at Needwood, Games Nights at Rangemore, Sport at the Friary, Egg Hunt and Scavenger Hunts at the Farmington’s and Business Meetings at Roos Gun Room. Sincere thanks must go the Roobottom's who have been very hospitable in letting the Club use their facilities at Hamstall Ridware. Float Building was a major event during the month of May and thanks go to Roger Mercer for the use of his buildings and materials for this mammoth task. Craig Hudson was a driving force behind the float building and put in many hours for which the club were very grateful. Although Ridware were not placed in the Float Competition everybody agrees that they had great fun building it. Ridware YFC are great supporters of the County Balls, which are always well supported by the members looking fit in their evening wear. We wish the elected Officers support and good luck in the coming year and that the successes of the past year are repeated and built upon.
