What we did in 2003....

Ashley YFC have had another fun packed year, we started the county year of with a good boogie at The Autumn Ball, this year at The Kings Hall an excellent night had by all.

November soon arrived and it was time to get explosive as we helped out at The Chetwode Arms bonfire. We then all attended the county AGM and picked up some shiny silver trophies.

We decided to go for a pre Christmas warm up so went on a tour round a brewery-near Nantwich. Their home brew is very strong - as Iím sure Laura realised. We decided to hold our Christmas meal once again at The Wheatsheaf Inn at Onneley, this was a nice night to get past and present members together.

January was a relatively quiet month, we took part in the bowling competition and county quiz.

In April we helped out at Lomaxís farm open day, this was a really good day to try and promote Ashley YFC and try and get some new members. We did a BBQ and tuck shop and managed to have a lot of food left over.

The next big event was the National AGM this year held in Torquay, quite a few of the Ashley members attended and had an excellent time-donít think the hangovers kicked in until Tuesday when itís time to go back to work.

We decided not to enter a float in the County Show but we decided instead to enter in the Raft competition for a change. Laura, Louise, John and Chris were the sailors, they started of well but didnít anticipate quite how long the River Dove was, they did complete it but sadly didnít get placed.

Overall Ashley have had a successful year, they have competed in lots of different competitions Bowling, Poole, Football, Hockey e.t.c. We held a new members evening in May which was a successful night and were able to join up quite a few new faces.

Ashley would like to thank the County Team and especially Margaret and Max for all their help over the year and to the members cause without you there would be no Ashley YFC.
